Welcome to S.E.R.T.S Troop! You have gone through basic training, A.I.T. and Jump School. Now you are here in the Nam. How about you volunteering to be in one of the best units in this division? The one with the highest life expectancy in the field and the highest body count per man. Well do you? Troop!

This is the recruitment section of the site. Where all you greenhorns come to sign on the dotted line. Although we as a group recognize the acts and actions of the Men of all the LRRP units that served in Vietnam we portray the men of the lettered Ranger units that saw out the 101st Airborne Divisions tour of duty in Vietnam from its activation in 1969 to its withdrawal in 1971. This is the men of Lima Company Airborne Rangers 75th Infantry.

Firstly, you need to realise that when ‘in the field’ we try to recreate the LRRP’s experiences as accurately as possible, this means that what we do can get physically demanding and needs a certain level of fitness, if you do not think you are up to this either due a lack of fitness or some form of injury/medical problem then it would probably be better not to join us, (if in any doubt, seek advice from your doctor).

Ok, your up to it physically, next you need some kit! On the right hand side is our minimum kit list, you need as much of this as possible before you start. We are able to loan out a small amount of kit but this is a very limited due to the size of our group. Let us know what you need and we’ll see what we can do.

When you first join you will be a probationary member for the first year at the rank of ‘Private First Class’ (you are also restricted from wearing our divisional patch and scroll). You will pay subs as outlined below. Full field weekends are Saturday morning through to late Sunday afternoon. Although you can arrive on Friday evening if specified.

At the end of that year if you have fulfilled the minimum attendance requirements, have achieved minimum kit requirements and have proved to be a suitable member of the group, you will be allowed to wear a divisional patch and Scroll and will be a full member of the 101st LRRP / Rangers LHA. Other patches such as Jump wings & CIB will be awarded when appropriate.

Thank you for your interest and we hope you have read enough to want to join us.

Important Costs and Subscription information:-

Membership to the group at present is split into two catogories:

Full group membership is set at £15 per annum. This is to help run the group. We are a non-profit making organization and all money received is put straight into the group, be it for group purchases like a tent, sandbags and the running of our website/forums.

Secondly as a full member you are required to provide PLI insurance for yourself. This can either be with the “The Sportsman’s Association” or "AFRA" the later provides specialist insurance for individual reenactors. Our members currently use both insurance types. Don't worry we'll point you in the right direction!
